Delta brainwave frequencies are one of the most identifiable frequencies and provide the most obvious benefits.  Delta is the lowest commonly accepted range of brainwave patterns, and as such the frequencies are immediately beneficial to everyone – including those without the special interests often associated with brainwave entrainment users.

Between the frequencies of 0.1hz to 3hz, the delta range covers many possible uses:

  • Increased immune functions
  • Decreased awareness of the surrounding world
  • Used for hypnosis
  • Alleviate symptoms of depression
  • Sleep induction
  • Pain relief

The delta state is also the dominate brainwave for children under the age of one.

The most common use for the delta frequency is for sleep induction; there is much documented evidence showing the relief provided to those who suffer from insomnia.  Low level delta ranges are also used to help with fibromyalgia offering degrees of pain relief.

Further uses for delta include extremely deep meditation, delta is one of the frequencies which has been recorded in buddhist monks during deep meditative states.

Almost paradoxically a delta range of 0.9hz is capable of inducing euphoria.

Delta brainwave entrainment continues to be widely used and appreciated for its great range of beneficial applications.

Brainwave entrainment frequencies cover a wide range of attributes and factors.  On this site, you will find an ever evolving list of the various available brainwave frequencies.   These maybe used to program your own brainwave entrainment audio, or simply for research purposes.

To start with, here are the four main brain wave frequencies.

Alpha – 8hz to 11hz:  Frequency of the awake relaxed mind.

Beta – 12hz to 38hz:  Brain wave frequencies for alert activity.  The dominant frequency of waking hours.

Theta – 3hz to 7hz:  Found during sleep, and ‘dream-like’ states.

Delta – 0.2hz to 2hz:  The brain wave frequency of deep sleep.
